Making the Most of Life at Any Age, Part 2

Oprah used to love asking her guests, “What advice would you give your younger self?” It’s a fabulous question because it acknowledges what I have so happily discovered in my career as an eyebrow specialist in Sydney:

We become so much wiser as we age without losing a drop of the humour or enthusiasm that we had when we were younger. We’re just a little smarter now.

Another great thing: as we get older, we generally have more money and more comfortable
circumstances that really let us enjoy life. Talk about awesome!

To be honest, I used to be one of those people who dreads birthdays – but not anymore. Now, I tell
myself I’m just getting better and better with each passing year. And it’s not just talk.

If I could go back and have a talk with the person I used to be, the one who feared every passing birthday, there’s so much I could tell her. I’ve shared some of it already, but here are three more tips that I think would make her life waayyy better if she could hear them from me now:

1. Keep it in Proportion!

Over time, we realize which things we can let go and which things are worth stressing over. We also learn our own limitations, so we’re less afraid to turn down requests that are going to take us beyond
boundaries in an uncomfortable way. That doesn’t mean we’re afraid to have adventures – on the contrary, I think I have more fun now that I’m 37 (see the next tip for why)! But maybe I care less what
people will think of me if I say “no.” I wish I’d learned that sooner.

2. Say Yes, Yes, Yes!

On the other hand… Life is too short to say no too often. Get positive, stay open to wonderful experiences that come at you from every side. That doesn’t mean you have to do every wacky thing
anyone suggests, but if you’re saying no, make sure you have a very good reason. And say yes as often as you think you have something to learn and room to grow in life.

3. It’s not a race – so don’t keep pace!

We all did this in our 20s, but I’m so grateful that I’ve outgrown this by the stage I’m at now. Who’s got more stuff? Who’s got the better job? Who had more kids, a happier marriage, a better house or car?
Forget about it! Ask yourself if you’re happy with where you are and what you have. If the answer is NO, then do what it takes to get where you’re going. Don’t look to one side or the other to see who has what.

And if the answer is YES, then take a minute – take a day, a week, the rest of your life, to savour how sweet things can be when you’re living life on your own schedule and your own terms. In the end, you don’t have anybody to answer to but yourself and the people you love and care about.

There’s no age that isn’t absolutely fabulous, especially if you look as great on the outside as you feel on the inside. So treat yourself – there is a range of incredible beauty techniques (just as me) that will let the Outer You reflect the beauty and tranquillity of the Inner You.

And that means you can stay young as long as you feel young – no matter what age it says on your birth certificate!

Making the Most of Life at Any Age, Part1

Do you ever find yourself dreading a birthday coming up?

Believe it or not, I used to dread them too. But I’m hoping I can help you stop dreading it and start

embracing it – that’s right, give that birthday a great big HUG!

One of the things I’ve learned as a top eyebrow specialist in Sydney is that birthdays are every bit as good as you make them.

I’ve never been a bit secretive about my age – I’m 37. And the best bit for me of having a few great

years under my belt is looking back at how far I’ve come.

Way back when I thought I knew so much – but now that I realize how much richer and more wonderful life is once you’re past that marvellous 3-0, I have a few pieces of advice I’d share with me in my teens and twenties, that young lady who thought she knew it all. And sometimes, when I’m feeling bold, I do share them with beginning professionals who come to me for my eyebrow shaping course or other professional training. Because a happier YOU also makes you a happier, more beautiful professional.

So what would I tell the younger me? Here are three tips, for starters…

1. Keep it in Proportion!

When you don’t have a lot of life experience, it’s totally natural to lose your sense of proportion. Then you get carried away, overwhelmed, tense, just generally – not at your best. When you have lived through a few extra years, just putting one foot in front of another, you realize that some days are not going to be your best but if you keep your cool, stop to smell the flowers and remember your priorities, and hang in there, you’ll also get to experience some unbelievable triumphs.

2. You’re going to need that money!

All those years I earned money and didn’t care about saving it? Yeah, I’d have something to say about that if I could talk to twenty-something me. Of course, I’m happy I got the chance to travel, meet people something me.

Of course, I’m happy I got the chance to travel, meet people and have unique experiences. I’d definitely thank her for all that, though maybe not for her obsession that, though maybe not for her obsession with gorgeous shoes! But I would let her know that she should probably start putting something aside. would let her know that she should probably start putting something aside

3. Find your tribe!

Back in my 20s, basically anyone I hung out with was considered a friend. I didn’t want to seem too judgmental or burn bridges, but more recently, I’ve realized that if there’s someone bringing you down, it’s worth it to cut them out of your life before they can damage your own positive energy. Surround yourself with people who build you up, who support you, who reflect the great person you KNOW you can be. One thing I’ve learned the hard way: make sure they’re people who will stick with you no matter what! Helen Keller said, “Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.”  You said it, sister.

People are sometimes amazed that I’m so open about my age. But honestly, there’s no point in lying and more importantly, I wouldn’t want to lie. I’m proud to have those years under my belt! It doesn’t

hurt that I have a number of beauty techniques, such as feather stroke eyebrows, to ensure that you’ll look and feel terrific at any age.

The most important thing is that I have learned so much, worked so hard, and become so empowered

that I wouldn’t give any of it up to be young again… not for all the money in the world!

Dental Care in Paradise

Are you one of the up to 30% of Australians who go without dental work because they believe can’t afford it?
What if I told you that you could get all the dental work taken care of that you’ve been putting off, in a pristine, sterile setting that meets all the rigourous standards you’d find here at home – only for a tiny fraction of the price?
It’s true – and I know because I’ve just done it.  You know I’m always looking out for the latest and greatest in beauty and health.  That’s why I’m so excited to tell you about my latest discovery – dental care in Koh Samui.
I’ve told you before how important eyebrows are.  Your eyes are such a central and expressive focal point for your entire face.  But what about your smile?
I’ve met so many clients who spend hours achieving the best look for their brows, lashes, and the rest of their beauty regimen – and then stop themselves from smiling, or cover up their smile, because they’re ashamed of their teeth.
Maybe they worry that dentistry will cost too much.
Maybe they can’t spare the time out of their busy schedules.
Maybe they’re worried that the procedures will be too uncomfortable.
Believe me, you CAN afford great dentistry just like I did – just by taking a few days out to have it done affordably in a fully-accredited modern setting abroad.
Koh Samui is Thailand’s second-largest island, famous for its coconut groves, sandy beaches, and coral reefs.  When I went down there for my dental work, I was afraid I’d be too busy to take advantage of all the island had to offer, but I was extremely pleasantly surprised by what I found.
First of all, the hotel was absolutely amazing.  And the water was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before – so warm and pure, just the perfect way to relax.  You really feel as if you’re in paradise!
Of course, you probably want to hear about the business side of things – getting my teeth taken care of.  My goal was to have 18 porcelain veneers, 2 crowns, and 1 wisdom tooth.  That’s a lot of dental work! At home in Australia, you can bet it would have cost me $40,000 to $50,000.  And I would have had to schedule it around work, family, and other commitments – a nightmare.
Not in Koh Samui where I had 12 days to get it all taken care of.  My dentist was ready for me right on time when I arrived on the first day.  He spoke great English and his office was spotlessly clean.  I was prepared to cancel everything then and there if I had thought the work was inferior to what I would have gotten at home.  But I’d heard great things about him, and was not disappointed.

As much as you might dread having dental work done, trust me – things are so different when you do it all on vacation.  No answering the phone, no picking up kids, no cooking, no clients, no work, no worries… just massage and pampering and hours relaxing on some of the world’s most beautiful beaches.
Your smile is so important to me because of my philosophy that our outer beauty helps unlock our inner beauty and self-esteem
Not long ago, I worried about all the same things you do, and now I want to help you have the same great experience I did.  You deserve amazing teeth – teeth that truly help complete your look.  I can help you lift all those worries and achieve the best-looking smile in less time and with far less money than you ever thought possible.

Breakfast in bed is always nice, and handmade cards are lovely, but for the mum in your life, or any

special lady, why not choose one of these gifts that are a guaranteed hit for Mother’s Day 2017? Bonus

storm – confirming what we’ve known all along!

4. And finally, may I recommend the gift of beauty… ?

As one of Sydney’s top eyebrow experts and professionals in cosmetic tattooing, I want to personally

recommend the gift of a new look. Our Gift Vouchers are perfect for this, even for women who don’t

think they’re “the type” to have beauty treatments – until they try it and fall in love. I have discovered

wonderful experience. Gift Vouchers are good for all our services – from feather-stroke eyebrows to

cosmetic lash treatments to waxing and more.

When you give the gift of beauty, you’re telling that special person – your mum, wife, or special

someone – that she deserves to take a little time to pamper and care for herself. After all, this is a day

that’s all about love, for a person who is all about love – the selfless love that mothers give and deserve

to receive in return every single day of the year.

Your Fashion Guide To Getting Ready For The Melbourne Cup Day

Your Fashion Guide To Getting Ready For The Melbourne Cup Day

I love lots of things about the Melbourne Cup. Some of the things that I love about the game are the champagne, the horses, and of course, the fashion. It is essential to look not only beautiful but also fresh all day long because the Melbourne Cup is a long event. In this article, I have highlighted some areas that you need to pay attention to so that you can look awesome for the big day.

scrub

The Skin

Your skin needs to shine bright like a diamond (I took that line from Rihanna’s songJ). The skin usually looks dull and lacks lustre due to the build-up of dead skin cells. You can fix this by exfoliating your skin bi-weekly. To do this, wet your hands and put the exfoliating product of your choice into your palms. Rub both palms together to have a paste and then apply it to your face gently in a circular motion. Rub it into the corners around your nose as well as along the hairline. After application, rinse your face with warm water, pat it to dry and apply your skincare essentials. Make sure that you’ve been exfoliating your skin weeks before the commencement of the race.

3

The Brows

In case you don’t know, your brow holds much power. They have the power to either make or break your look. To have an awesome look, you need polished and well-plucked brows that frame your face perfectly. I’ll advise you don’t put your fate in your own hands. Let experts handle this for you. Book an appointment with Eye Brow Experts- we are your go-to brow pros and we’ll give you a gorgeous outlook.

conditioner

The Hair

Frizzy hair is difficult to style. You can fix this by treating your hair to deep conditioning mask about twice every week. Ensure you do this at least a week before the game. This will help repair and nourish your hair back to its awesome state.

Conclusion

When you’re trying to look good for the big day, it is better you don’t try anything new. Don’t use any new products, treatments or makeups. I say this because you’re not sure of how your skin will react to the ingredients in these new products. So, the best thing to do is to stick with the products that you’re familiar with. Follow my tips and you’ll look glamorous for the D day.

Why Allegro Motion Technology?

Why Allegro Motion Technology?

Not long ago, an eyebrow specialist in Sydney would recommend using tweezer and wax to remove hair. Eventually, that progressed to electrolysis and bleaching, which then turned into countless kinds waxes, creams, and cover-ups. Despite the advancement of technology, these treatment options still exist in the beauty industry.
As a specialist who offers both eyebrow shaping in Sydney and Brazilian waxing in Sydney, I know what works and what doesn’t. Laser and IPL is hands down the best treatment option I have ever used on my clients.

32135-1_n

There are several reasons why I prefer IPL. One reason is it works.

IPL was first invented for medical procedures that treated skin conditions. In the 1990s, scientists proved that IPL could be used as an effective treatment for hair removal, as a natural side effect of the procedure was permanent hair loss for patients. The intense pulsed light method was eventually fine-tuned for hair removal and marketed for that purpose. After the first machine was officially developed specifically for hair removal in 1996, it’s use has expanded dramatically. Today it is the third most common cosmetic treatment available.

Although IPL is similar to laser hair removal, the difference is in the light source. Instead of lasers, IPL uses light to zap hair away for good. It also uses a much boarder spectrum of light waves than lasers and filters these to better pinpoint its exact focus.

IPL works by targeting hair pigments, and heats up the hair follicle, thereby damaging the cells that ultimately cause your hair to come back. The effectiveness of the treatment option is dependent on the color of the skin and hair, however.

For my salon, I like to offer my clients a German motion technology system called the Allegro Motion System, which is the highest quality machine on the market but available at a more affordable price point. It was developed by doctors and is the most advanced IPL machine on the market. I also prefer it because it is one of the safest options while remaining the least painful treatment for hair removal possible. Fast and effective, I always recommend this option to my clients.

As an eyebrow specialist in Sydney, I base all of my treatment options off my experience. You can believe me when I say that IPL works!
I’m looking forward to working with you!
